Sending the same email to a group of clients or consultants?
Put their addresses in BCC, not in To or CC. Each recipient gets the message without seeing everyone else's email address, and nobody can accidentally reply to the whole list.
Why it matters
An address list in the To field is a data breach in miniature. It tells every recipient who else you work with, and under UK GDPR that can be reportable. It happens most often with practice newsletters, fee updates and Christmas closure notices.
For anything regular, use a mailing platform
If you send newsletters or updates to more than a handful of people, use an email marketing platform. It handles unsubscribes properly and removes the chance of exposing your client list by mistake.
